I head over to my parent's house, I don’t have a key anymore so I head in through the neighbors' backyard. I have to head through my neighbors living room to get to my parent's house, it’s a really weird format. I try not to wake my neighbor who is napping on the couch. She wakes and I have to tell her my life story and answer all her questions before I can escape upstairs. My brother and one of his friends come over. As they head in the front door a shot goes off and my brother's friend clutches his shoulder, blood spreading under his hand. It only grazed him but caught me on the shoulder too. I shove my brother and his friend onto the lawn, pull a gun from my boot and shoot at the person in the bushes left-handed. I keep shooting until I am sure he is down. Considering I was shooting left handed I had pretty good aim and quick reflexes. Turns out I’m a retired sky… at 24??
My brother's friend is ok and we all calm down, the police and ambulance come.
A few months later I go to dinner with the guy I’m dating, I really like him, he’s a nice ambassadors son. Once I get to his fancy house I am not allowed in, his mother invites me into the parlor so we can talk. She tells me that she is the head of the secret services that I spied for. I don’t believe her, grab 2 guns off the security guys, train them on her and her son, telling her to prove it. She tells me that she knows why I quit, I was sent to blow up a kindergarten, only because a wanted criminal, a national threat was inside. I retired and started a normal life. She knows my spy number, where I trained and what missions I went on. I’m still not convinced until she tells me the reason I joined the secret services. I joined so that when my little brother got cancer he would get the best care and get access to exclusive chemo. No one knows this, no one but the people way up in the secret services.
I lower the guns and slump into an armchair. I ask if the guy I’m dating is even her son, she calmly replies that with my training I should have easily recognized the facial similarities.
