There is a civilization that worships the sun. The sun chooses who will be worthy and who will die. As depicted in ancient Egyptian paintings the sun das rays, when these rays touch something it is almost like the gentle stroke of a hand against that surface. This civilization lives mainly underground, it is a desert land they live in. Children are considered innocents and too weak to be judged by the sun, so they are kept in the cave dwellings until they come of age. The coming of age ceremony includes them stepping outside the caves for the first time. They are completely covered up and then undress out in the desert. The suns rays brush over them and decide if they are worthy. The sun can tell if someone will become a bad or good person. If they become a bad person they will develop a nasty big black mole that will eventually turn into skin cancer and kill them. Sometimes this cancer is unseen, underneath their hair or even in their mouths or under their eyelids. Everyone gets marked by the sun, every freckle represents a small sin. No one is perfect, everyone has told a little white lie or had malicious thoughts. The sun sees all, but judges if you are allowed to continue living or not.
